Description

Position: Behavior Interventionist for the 2025/2026 school year 

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Works closely with Director of Special Services and district Process Coordinators
  • Attend meetings as appropriate for consultation on behavioral issues
  • Facilitates Functional Behavior Analyses, with accompanying reports.
  • Presents FBA information to schools and parents to inform next steps.
  • Develops Behavior Intervention Plans, utilizing staff input and FBA results.
  • Oversees the implementation of the BIP by building staff
  • Provides behavior consultation to teachers, administrators, and other school staff.
  • Models appropriate behavior interventions for school staff
  • Provides ongoing supervision and oversight to Paraprofessionals regarding interventions
  • Refers the child and/or family for community services as needed.
  • Provides behavior training to staff, and works in conjunction with district CPI Trainers
  • Coordinate the Manifestation Determination process, track student discipline data, and coordinates services for suspended students
  • Monitor the effective use and documentation of calming rooms and seclusion/restraint
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Service.

Educational qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 5 successful years of Gen Ed or SPED teaching experience required
  • 5 years successful SPED experience preferred
  • Master’s Degree in Human Behavior, Behavioral Psychology, SPED, or similar preferred
  • 3 years experience in a similar role preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience facilitating FBAs and writing BIPs preferred
  • Experience in behavior consultation preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required

Certification or License: School psychology certification or the school psychology license or social work degree; Missouri teaching certificate.
